Dr. Olanike Maria Buraimoh

Dr. Olanike Maria Buraimoh is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Microbiology, University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos Nigeria. Her research is focused on bioremediation of polluted ecosystems, and bioconversion of wastes to value-added products. Olanike is an Alumna, Research Management and Leadership Program, CEU- IREX-UASP, USA.

A Visiting Researcher at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology Germany, a Visiting Scholar, Ohio State University, USA. Fellow of the TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visit. The principal investigator of two sponsored, and completed projects on the bioconversion of wastes to biogas, and microbial conversion of organic waste to bioethanol.

She is currently a co-researcher in two sponsored on-going project including “Hybrid Conversion of Renewable Energy Potentials into Energy Carriers” and “Profiling of Water Hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes [Mart.] Solms) Biotypes in Lagos State and Novel Microbial Conversion to Nutraceutical Biomass for Fish Feed Technology”. She has 21 published papers in reputable journals, 18 papers presented at national and international conferences and seminars. She is a reviewer to reputable journals.

She has a book chapter and a patent to her credit. She is a member of 9 professional associations including Society for Applied Microbiology (SFAM), U.K, Nigeria Society for Microbiology, American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and Institute of public Analysts of Nigeria.
